I am envious. Our lettuce was eaten by the squirrels... but I think the rest will do ok. I should invest in barrels like you. Can't wait to eat your home grown yumminess!

Hey... let's do some of this stuff together! Especially learning more about photography and little expeditions. :) I'm sure Birch would also LOVE to have some "parties" where sausages, pates, pickling, curing, smoking, AND cheese making is on the main agenda. Reminds me of that Seinfeld scene of Kramer and Newman making ridiculous amounts of sausages while listening to German polka music. That scene is basically Birch's dream in life.

Oh man, Juli you inspired me this afternoon to make this tonight. Let's just say that it was a fantastic idea. Not only is this a budget recipe (could feed a family of 4 for $20, or less if you have ingredients or are making it for 2), but it's filled with delicious flavors and several textures.

The crunchiness of the pancetta quite compliments the soft squishiness of the pasta. The saltiness of both the added salt and the pancetta compliments the fresh sweet corn. The basil and garlic is just the kicker to spice it up.

I snapped up a few shots (although I could arguably reduce and remove more flop-shots) and put them on flickr. Take a looksie: http://www.flickr.com/photos/zanoryt/sets/72157625120410767/

I didn't get to cooking until about 10PM due to other errands we had to do, but Dana thought it was fantastic. Little Aidan still likes hotdogs, as he gagged the whole time I cooked and we ate. I'll give him some time to grow up!

What are we cooking next? ;)

Thanks to Facebook, I've discovered your blog, and will add it to my RSS reader so I can eat each delicious picture as you release them. Now I need to start using my 20D to take pictures of my delectables.
